Tour du Matterhorn – June 2007

Tour du Matterhorn - June 2007

Tour du Matterhorn: a two week hut to hut treking  around the Matterhorn massif (this trip is also called “Tour du Cervin”). We flew to Geneva and got a train to Zermatt.

Europaweg

DAY1:Randa
We took the Europaweg from Zermatt (which was quite loose and unstable). Unfortunately the Europa Hut was closed as we were too early in the season. So we dropped down to Randa for our overnight stay.

DAY2: St Niklaus (1120m)
We regained the Europaweg  which was even more loose and dangerously unstable than the previous day. So much that we eventually had to retreat back to Randa and get the train to  St Niklaus.
