From the main car park at Tarn Hows the route goes past Tarn Hows and then on to Black Crag. It then drops to the Coniston road before circling back on the other side of Tarn Hows and then does a final loop through the forest for a final look over Tarn Hows. 10.2km, 308m ascent/descent, 2:45hr. High Cup Nick and Backstone Edge
An extension of a route published earlier. Follow PW from Dufton to High Cup Nick then head for highest FB across Maize Beck. Before FB head off piste NW to 600m contour. Follow contour SW to begin with and eventually a faint path develops. Folllow this around Backstone Edge past trig point until track from Dufton the Great Rundale Tarn is seen, Follow track down. 18km, 780m ascent/descent. 4:45hr. Recorded 15/5/16
