  • A dusk visit at 6.20 pm under a full moon. The sun had set at 5.41pm followed by "Civil Twilight" for 33 minutes until 6.14pm during which period it is deemed possible to still carry on outdoor activities without the need for additional light. At 6.15pm (as the centre of the sun reaches 6 degrees below the horizon)dusk begins during which period objects can still be distinguished (trees, houses, hedge , trig pillar in this case) and maybe some stars and planets can be seen. Venus was shining brightly on this evening low in the western sky for the first hour with Mars close by but 100 times fainter than Venus. Managed to twinge a muscle in my lower back returning through / over a hedge and gate. On the news was the discovery in Ethiopia of a lower jawbone for the first known human lineage 2.8 million yrs ago, 400,000 years earlier than the previous fossil record.
