  • From Crowthorn to Scholes Height, then across the surprisingly dry moor to Bull Hill Trig. Then on to Torr Hill to bag the trig bolt, then back to crowthorn

  • Visited this in 1990, in very thick mist. The summit is just inside a military training area, and I was surprised by a squad of soldiers in full battle gear, who informed me that I really shouldn't have been there on that day, and needed to vacate the area immediately ( I must have missed the red flags in the thick mist). Fortunately it wasn't a live fire day, so I was never in any real danger. Earlier this year, Ukrainian soldiers were trained here, in the use of some of the weapons that the UK gave to them.
