  • 23/12/14 We were back by lunch at our cottage in Broughton after an early start and a windy battering on the Coniston fells. Then set out on a solo top bagging run over 4 tops in 3 hours of a sunny dry but still very windy afternoon - I set off without a sack, wearing 4 upper layers for some reason - and was soon carrying 3. Jog and fast walk (race to beat darkness at 4pm) from Broughton and up Ulpha road then SW field gate to weave a way up on grass through bracken and rocks. Good viewpoint, next to Barrow
