  • 27/12/14 easy detour from footpath from Hodge Close - where many years ago I did the exciting 150 foot free abseil landing on the end of the old jetty sticking out into the lake. Today with L was a 5 hour walk over 4 tops on a calm sunny cold winters day with overnight snow above 300 metres glistening in the occasional sunshine. (4 days later,on a wet New year's eve, with Rebecca,John & co form their cottage at L Langdale we explored the impressive Cathedral Cave slate quarry below in woods to west)
