- July 15. 20km 4 top circuit from Ashford. From Finn Cop via Monsal Head with its dramatic viaduct of which the poet Ruskin said when it was built "The valley is gone – and now every fool in Buxton can be in Bakewell in half an hour and every fool at Bakewell in Buxton". Is now has a preservation order to maintain it as part of the popular Monsal Trail cycle track.(once a popular location for bridge swinging (which was soon banned but abseiling under licence allowed). We took the steep direct road out of the valley up through Cressbrook before short track to summit field then a drop back down to re cross the Wye at Litton Mill, steeply up to High Field.
