- Hard sweaty work on a humid June afternnon. From Loxhill on fpaths until a direct step assault over / through fallen tress, high bracken, brambles - a bad route choice blamed on only having a 1:50000 map and hounded away from my original line by a barking red setter that appeared from the gardens below and didn't like me being there. A similar rough descent followed, being unaware of all the path options show on 1:25000 until checking later. In 1966 a small plane sadly crashed into the trees on the hill opposite killing both crew - believed trying to fly below a low cloud base from Gatwick to Hampshire. There is also a Breakneck Hill in the Appalachian Mountains, Maryland at 1,872 across from Rocky Gap State Park.
