- Parked in small layby at north end of Hearthstone Lane. Pleasant stroll via hamlet. Short but easy trespass over two stone walls from highest point on track west of wood. Nice summit knoll with great views (pity about the quarry)

- Circular walk from Matlock with L over High Tor and steeply up to Riber Castle which is now being converted into apartments. Until 2000 it was a controversial wildlife park (zoo), with activists releasing several lynx into the wild. Footpath and wall hop to summit then down to Cromford and up to Black Rocks and the British Stone Centre, before aiming for Masson Hill -my last Debyshire Tump.
