  • Nice circular walk from Askham following the east bank of the river lowther to Whale where we followed the road around to a track passing barns and a couple of farm houses to the end of the track where you carry on in between two small plantations to easily reach the top. From here keep going to the end of the wall on the right where there is a clearing and a gate. We went through the gate turned right to Knipescar. Cracking concrete ring at the top. From here we carried on to the farm and the road back to Whale where we turned left on a path to a bridge over to the west bank of the lowther which we followed to the road back to Askham on the 10/07/20
