Puerta de Frigiliana
Southern Spain. Spectacular hike with great views of high mountain ranges and the Mediterranean. A must whenever in the area. Circular hike. Start/finish at disused quarry on narrow road from Frigiliana Distance: 24.7 km but can be shortened by about 5 km by driving further along track to beehives. Time: 6 - 7 hours. Ascent:1075 m. Highest point: 1245 m. Descent: 1080 m.

Almendron
Southern Spain. Stunning views of Mediterranean and mountain ranges including Sierra Nevada. Circular hike. Start/finish at car park in forest picnic area, accessible on track leading from Nerja caves car park. Distance: 14.1 km. Time: approx. 5 - 5.5 hours. Ascent: 1102 m. Highest point: 1411 m. Descent: 1060 m. Great hike but probably best to avoid summer months.

Moel Fanau
Woodland and moorland. Circular hike. Start/finish at Loggerheads car park. Distance: 13.7 km. Time: 4 - 4.5 hours. Ascent: 507 m. Highest point: 572 m. Descent: 537 m . Wide views from top of Moel Famau.

Cadair Berwyn
Ridge walking and moorland. Circular hike. Start/finish at car park in Llandrillo. Distance: 17 km. Time: approx. 6 hours. Ascent: 782 m. Highest point: 836 m. Descent: 777 m. This hike has quite a long ascent and can be a bit boggy in places.

Pen-y-Cloddiau and Moel Arthur
North wales is more than just Snowdonia. Ridge walking and hill fort with panoramic views. Circular hike. Start/finish at car park on narrow road to Langwfan. Distance: 12.6 km. Time: approx. 3.5 hours. Ascent: 442 m . Highest point: 464 m. Descent: 436 m.

Hawkeshead to Latterbarrow
4.6 miles, 1066 ft ascent. Its almost the Wainwright Latterbarrow but with a different start point and we missed a path so ended up a mile longer than we should have done.
