  • First visited this in 1979, during a circular walk from Doveholes Station.The whole top of this hill, is the remains of a spoil heap for Starvehouse Mine, a lead mine that closed a long time ago. Which means all those grassy mounds are manmade. Which poses the question once again, why are some manmade mounds included as the tops of hills, whilst others are not?
