  • A surprising level open viewpoint (terrace) with seats and long views to the south above the trees. info board on top explains that it was created by Thomas Hope in 1808 -one of the richest men in England - who owned Deepdene Estate, whose gardens were later ruined by one of the first bypasses - skirting Dorking.
