  • Chris Pearson says...
  • Summit forms part of White Horse Wood, Kent County Council's newest country park, set within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.A Site of Nature Conservation Interest, over 20,000 trees have recently been planted here including oak, ash, silver birch, wild cherry and crab apple. An easy access route around the park, perfect for wheelchairs and pushchairs, takes in both the summit (meeting of paths by a bench) and the 1 metre lower and separately listed trig pillar -with its Kentish Horse emblem painted on the sides. Popular with model aircraft flyers. My first visit (@20yrs ago probably only visited the trig so back for bench summit to make sure. Park website informs that there is no kindling or logshop.
