- 6/11/22 3 hr circular walk with L from our housesitting cottage up at Troutbeck so a lovely downhill lane walk for a couple of kms to this lovely autumnal wood. artificial looking mound near summit is overtopped by the nearby true summit a rocky outcrop hidden in a thicket of rhododendrons by an old No 13 (orienteering?) post. Down to lake side paths into Ambleside and back 'home' over Wansfell Pike- taking a look at Stock Ghyll waterfall.
