Doctor's Gate
From Bedburn minor rd NW to forest track at ht 217. Follow track W through forest onto moor. Skirt Redford Allotments then continue on track NNW to Doctor's Gate. Take track SW initially beside wall then SW across moor. leave track on footpath S at 330 m contour to descend to forest at Potato Hill. Climb over wall by gate to continue on path through forest to join forest track. Follow track E to eventually meet access road. Take road E to start. 9.7km, 208m ascent/descent, 2hr. Grinton Moor
Start SE038962. Take BW SW to gate in fence then S on track to Apedale Road. Follow track W to Morley's Folly. Leave track N on faint FP beside Birks Gill to join track heading NE. Follow track over Harker Top to track junction. Continue E on grass track, crossing road, to Cogden Gill. Take track S to smelting mill. Cross ford and return W on track (not on OS) to start. 16.2km,450m up/down, 3:20hr. Recorded 31/10/14.
