From the Windermere ferry crossing the route heads north along the west shore of Windermere then climbs by Belle Grange Beck to return via Wise Een and Moss Eccles Tarns before arriving at Far Sawrey. There is an opportunity to detour to Beatrix Potter's House at Near Sawrey. Pubs at both Sawreys. 10.6km, 391m ascent/descent, 2:30hr. Recorded 27/10/15.

From Bassenthwaite village take minor rd The Rake to FP going W along scarp. Descen through Bank Wood, minor rd W to A591. FP S to Scarness Cottages. Follow FP by lake SE to Bowness Bay.
