Waun-oer and Cribin Fawr
Starting point: Aberllefenni. Waun-oer and Cribin Fawr are east of Cadair Idris. This walk starts on a logging road just outside the small town of Aberllefenni. I walked clockwise, so most of the ascent occurred immediately along a long, straight, steep path through dark woods to the top of a ridge (Mynydd Ceiswyn). It's an easy walk along the ridge with excellent views in all directions, particularly of Cadair Idris and north into Snowdonia. The descent from Waun-oer towards Cribin Fawr is very steep -- take care! I returned via the wide, well-maintained road through the forestry area.

Aircraft Wreckage in Snowdonia
The following waypoints lists most aircraft crash sites from 1942 to 1957 in the area of responsibility of RAF Valley, Anglesey. If you right click on any waypoint and select properties, it will list aircraft type and date crashed (if known). All information has been directly compiled from the 'wilderness-wales' website and entered into .gpx format. *IMPORTANT NOTE* Please bear in mind that many of these wrecks are classed as war graves, and removing anything from these sites is illegal. I assume no responsibility as to the accuracy of information or wreckage location.

Cadair Idris from Kings YHA
9.5 or 12 miles. From the YHA Kings to the Pony Path, 5 peaks but you do need to place a car just outside of Dolgellau by a public phone with enough parking for 3 to 4 cars. You can walk back the YHA but this adds 2.5 to 3 miles of gated B road walking. Peaks are Cyfrwy 811m, Craig Cwm Amarch 791m, Penygadair 893m the highest of the Cadair Massif, Mynydd Moel 863m and Gau Graig 683m. The file is a cleaned up track with all the little errors taken out.
