Pendle Hill from Downham 

The route starts and ends at the village carpark in Downham (free!). The route is 6.4 miles and took me around 2 and a half hours. A pdf of the walk can be found by clicking the link below.

Walking with Witches Trail - Pendle 

The trail starts and ends at the car park in Barley (?1 for cars). The trail can be split in to two smaller walks (see the pdf link) but is 7.4 miles in total. The route is VERY muddy in places!

Stang Forest 

Park NZ024088. Walk 200m down rd.Turn L by Lodge. Follow track NW then W to leave forest by stile at NZ011093. Ascend gully S past adit on right and Jinglepot Hole on lft to stony track going SW. Follow track to minor rd. Cross rd, continue on track E by Hope Scar. Leave track on BW at NZ037077. Keep new deer fence on rt, follow fence to Black Hill Gate. Take BW NW until BW leaves track at NZ036087. Stay on track W to rd. Turn rt to Car Park. 10.1km, 240m ascent, 2:10hr. (Recorded on 10/09/14)

Water Crag & Rogan's Seat from Tan Hill Inn 

From Tan Hill Inn, follow road E. After cattle grid leave road on track to rt. At first bend in track take faint grass path to left. Note: BW shown on map does not exist. Continue on faint or non-existent path ESE via Kings Pit, Mirk Fell Edge, William Gill and Great Scollit Hill to Annaside Edge. Leave path heading S towards cairn that will become visible after first rise. From cairn head SW towards summit shelter and trig point. Follow path from trig point W to Pile of Stones (currick) then SW to corner of fence line near Moor Hen Nest. Follow fence line (not on map) SSW to Rogan's Seat. Take shooter's track S to join Coast to Coast path. Head W along C2C to Swinner Gill, Crack Pot and Keld. Return to Tan Hill on Pennine Way. 19.6km, 592m ascent/descent, est time 4:50hr. Melmerby Fell, Knapside and Fiend's Fell from Melmerby 

Based on walk in Cicerone guide to N pennines. Start at Melmerby village, go E to Blea Scar and Melmerby Scar to Dun Edge. N along ridge to Knapside Hill and Fiend's Fell. Return along track and green lanes from Hartside Cafe via Twotop, Hazel Rigg and Gamblesby. 16.6km, 634m ascent/descent, 4:05hrs. (Based on a gpx trace recorded on 13/12/12)

Wild Boar Fell 

15.1km. From Cotegill Bridge to Swarth Fell then Wild Boar Fell and High Dolphinsty. Return via Hanging Lund and Slade Edge. (This route was generated from digital mapping and walked by the author on 8/2/12)

Great Rundale Tarn and High Cup Nick 

15km. From Dufton climb via Threlkeld Side to Great Rundale Tarn. Follow line of Tarn Sike and Maize Beck to High Cup Nick and return via Pennine Way. A great walk in winter when the ground is frozen. (This route was generated from digital mapping and walked by the author on 1/2/12)

kettlewell circular 

A 5 hour walk over 12 miles starting in Kettlewell,ascending upto 500m over Old Cote Moor descending into arncliffe.Following the River Skirfare to Litton and ascending to 600m over Haw Fell down to Buckden.Heading back along the River Wharfe to Kettlewell.

Wet Sledddale Horsehoe 

A longer version of the normal horseshoe in favour of taking in Mosedale Cottage Bothy and a good route for seeing Red Deer. From Wet Sleddale Reservoir SW via Wasdale Pike and Great Yarlside. W along fence line via Harrop Pike to Sleddale Fell. NW to Tarn Crag then N to Mosedale. NE to Mosedale Cottage (good lunch stop). Continue ENE to Scam Matthew then NNW to High Wether Howe. E to Seat Robert then along wall to gate, Return via Sleddale Hall and S side of reservoir. 21km, 659m ascent/descent, est time 5:50. (Based on gps trace recorded on 7/5/13). Very squelchy route even in dry weather.
