Upper Eden - Rutter Force
Park near New Inn at Hoff. Follow FP S by Hoff Beck to Rutter Force. Take FP behind cottages SSW twds Hayton Holme then W in direction of ford before taking track then FP NW to Haybanks. Minor rd W past Drybeck Hall then FP N to Hofflunn Farm. Continue NW to road then return E to Hoff. 8.6km, 138m ascent/descent, time 2:15. (Based on gpx trace recorded on 16/02/13)

Upshire,Essex Walk
This walk goes through sections of Epping Forest, Warlies Park, and Copped Hall Park, sometimes on open access land. This means that parts of the route do not follow official footpaths. The terrain is hilly, and there is a mix of open meadow and ancient woodland. You have to cross and re-cross the M25 (bridges are provided!) which is noisy and dusty but within a few yards either side of this you are in the heart of rural Essex. Parking is in a long layby on the northern side of Crown Hill, opposite the Good Intent, Copthall Green.

5.74 miles starting at Hundred Acres (SU593113). Limited parking. Head south through Wickham Common, via Bonhams, Albany Farm and Roche Court. Head east to cross the Wallington river; immediately head north to Bere Farm and turn northwest back to Wickham Common.

Dartmoor - Belstone, Steeperton Tor Horseshoe
The route climbs steadily from Belstone by a progressively less obvious path to gain the ridge at Oke Tor then follows the ridge before dropping down to ford the Stepperton Gorge stream at Knack Mine. A short climb to the summit of Steeperton Tor is followed by a descent to ford Steeperton Brook. The path heads E, occasionally hard to follow, skirting Hound Tor towards Little Hound Tor before descending above Small Brook by White Hill. From here the route follows the Bridle Way, actually little more than sheep tracks, across the flanks of Cosdon Beacon, fording Lady Brook. Near a cluster of gorse bushes another path heads downhill to a standing stone (not on map) then drops left to join a path heading back to Belstone via a foot bridge over the Taw. 16.3km, 424m ascent/descent, 4hrs.
