Cross Fell and Rake Moss

From Kirkland follow path to join Pennine Way north of Cross Fell and continue east to Backstone Edge. Return south of Cross Fell using old miners track and non existent bridleway and drop off ridge via Wildboar Scar. 19.6km, 813m ascent/descent, 5:15hrs. (This route was generated from digital mapping and walked by the author on 29/3/12)

North Stainmore

This walk gives superb views over the Pennine watershed but is very boggy in places so is probably best done after a dry spell or when the ground is frozen hard. Park at former Punch Bowl pub in North Stainmore, take minor road NE to moor. Follow path NE over Bow Crag to Soulgill Head. UA Bdy fence gives handrail SE to Pind Hill and then S to Round Hill. Return along BW to road via Wham Mouth and then retrace to Punch Bowl. 12.1km, 302m ascent/descent, 3hrs. (Based on a gpx trace (avoiding boggiest bits) recorded on 23/11/12)

Edale to Kinder Circular

this walk is 8 miles long and it took me 7 hours to do it because the day was clear and sunny and the views, stunning. pick a sunny day and take your time . Too good to rush and a great trig point on Kinder. The walk starts and ends at the station.

Litton Cheney YH to Elwell (Linear)

This route is a great linear if your staying at the YH or indeed the pub next door. It is mainly on the top of the downland running on a ridge, very easy to navigate and stunning views of the coast . There are buses at Elwell (the end of the walk) into Dorchester where you change for the bus back on the A35 .there is a stop at the crossroads where you get off and walk the mile down the road back to the YH if you want to return to the beginning.

6 Wainwrights Back o' Skiddaw

The walk starts and finishes in the hamlet of Longlands (NY 265 358) with space for 3 carefully parked cars. It is 9 miles long and includes: Longlands Fell, Brae Fell, Great Sca fell, Knott, Meal Fell and Great Cockup.

Leathgill Bridge, Randygill Top and Green Bell

Another horseshoe in the Howgills. Fron Bowderdale up Hooksey, cross Leathgil Bridge to Randygill Top then along ridge to Green Bell via Spengill Head. Return via Hunthoof Pike and Stwarth. Only difficult nav is finding exit stile from Weasdale Nursery. FP signs into Nursery are good but they point in wrong direction near windmill. Stile is in wall around 60m to left of windmill and is hard to spot. 13km, 555m ascent/descent, 3:35hrs. (Based on a GPS trace recorded on 10/11/12)
Owner:  ninthace, Type: route/track, Area: England.

Loadpot Hill from Helton

Start near Dewpot Holes near Helton. NW to Ketley Gate and The Cockpit before SW to Loadpot Hill, S to Wether Hill and return via Bampton Common. Note: Ford at Mooranhill is a wade, FB downstream. Return via road from Mooranhil may be better option, FPs can be like deep custard in places. 19.3 km, 560m ascent/descent, 4:50hrs, (Based on a GPS trace recorded on 5/11/12).
Owner:  ninthace, Type: route/track, Area: England.
