Water Crag & Rogan's Seat from Tan Hill Inn
From Tan Hill Inn, follow road E. After cattle grid leave road on track to rt. At first bend in track take faint grass path to left. Note: BW shown on map does not exist. Continue on faint or non-existent path ESE via Kings Pit, Mirk Fell Edge, William Gill and Great Scollit Hill to Annaside Edge. Leave path heading S towards cairn that will become visible after first rise. From cairn head SW towards summit shelter and trig point. Follow path from trig point W to Pile of Stones (currick) then SW to corner of fence line near Moor Hen Nest. Follow fence line (not on map) SSW to Rogan's Seat. Take shooter's track S to join Coast to Coast path. Head W along C2C to Swinner Gill, Crack Pot and Keld. Return to Tan Hill on Pennine Way. 19.6km, 592m ascent/descent, est time 4:50hr. Gray Nag from Slaggyford
From Slaggyford village minor road SW to Longdyke Head. Left onto shooters' track SSW to Highshield Green. Track runs out at Wolf Cleugh. Follow fence line up hill to fence junction (best line is about 80m E of fence until dog leg at Long Grain). At fence junction follow fence ESE to Tom Smith's Stone. Cross fence and follow S side NE to Gray Nag. Follow wall E briefly to fence. Cross fence and descend SE along fence to Woldgill Burn. Cross stream and follow it to junction with Gilderdale Burn. Cross stream (no bridge despite FB on map). Follow S bank to FB. Join Isaacs Tea Trail/ Pennine Way (PW), head N to Whitely Castle. Cross road, follow PW to rwy. Follow rwy path to start. 20.5km, 630m ascent/descent, est time 5:15hrs. (GPS trace recorded 26/06/13)

Teesdale Way from Cotherstone
From Fox & Hounds in Cotherstone take minor road E to River Tees. Cross river on FB, follow Teesdale Way N past Shipley Wood. Cross Tees at Egglestone Bridge. Return S on Teesdale Way to starting point. 10.1km, 266m ascent/descent, est time 2:35. (Gpx trace recorded on 25/6/13)

Bink Moss from Holwick
From Holwick, take FP across Holwick Scars then S to Rowton Beck. Leave FP, follow N side of wall SW up Easter Beck. At top cross fence and follow S side of fence line WSW over Green Fell to summit of Bink Moss (duck boards are in place over bogs). Admire the boot then head W along fence to Hagworm Hill. Join FP N along fence until RoW leaves fence line to cross Howden Moss. RoW is visible to begin with but soon disappears completely. Follow occasional guide posts in direction of Noon Hill. Posts also run out after Nature Reserve sign. Continue over Noon Hill Moss and Noon Hill Side to cross Skyer Beck and join Pennine Way. Return E on PW past High Force. Leave PW at Holwick Head House to return on FP to start. 16km, ascent/descent 413m, est time 4hrs. (Gps track recorded on 20/06/13)
