  • By headtorch through woods from road junction to flat track. Now mid Sept and back into bagging in the dark on evening ascents by 8pm. Being perched not far from the runway end, the trig would be a great vantage point for watching the bi-ennial Farnborough Air show. The week-long event combines a major trade exhibition for the aerospace and defence industries with a public airshow for 2 days attracting over 100,000 people. Sadly in 1952 29 people were killed when a jet broke up, many of them hit by debris on 'observation hill'which I guess may well be this obvious vantage point.
