  • Dark but moonlit (full moon) no torch needed. Track from Foredown Tower, a former hospital water tower that contains an operational camera obscura. A perfect night for observing the stars and planets with Venus standing out shining 100 times brighter than nearby Mars low in the western sky. Along with many stars (Plough, Orion) man made lights seen including a satellite (moving quickly), aircraft, ships out at sea, and the orange lights of Brighton and Hove. Occurring over 150 times in the Bible, the word “Zion” essentially means “fortification”. Mount Zion, is the highest point in ancient Jerusalem, being a broad hill just outside the walls of the Old City.
