Park NZ024088. Walk 200m down rd.Turn L by Lodge. Follow track NW then W to leave forest by stile at NZ011093. Ascend gully S past adit on right and Jinglepot Hole on lft to stony track going SW. Follow track to minor rd. Cross rd, continue on track E by Hope Scar. Leave track on BW at NZ037077. Keep new deer fence on rt, follow fence to Black Hill Gate. Take BW NW until BW leaves track at NZ036087. Stay on track W to rd. Turn rt to Car Park. 10.1km, 240m ascent, 2:10hr. (Recorded on 10/09/14)

Tarn Hows and Black Crag Circular
From the main car park at Tarn Hows the route goes past Tarn Hows and then on to Black Crag. It then drops to the Coniston road before circling back on the other side of Tarn Hows and then does a final loop through the forest for a final look over Tarn Hows. 10.2km, 308m ascent/descent, 2:45hr.
