Tarn Hows and Black Crag Circular
From the main car park at Tarn Hows the route goes past Tarn Hows and then on to Black Crag. It then drops to the Coniston road before circling back on the other side of Tarn Hows and then does a final loop through the forest for a final look over Tarn Hows. 10.2km, 308m ascent/descent, 2:45hr. Melmerby Fell, Knapside and Fiend's Fell from Melmerby
Based on walk in Cicerone guide to N pennines. Start at Melmerby village, go E to Blea Scar and Melmerby Scar to Dun Edge. N along ridge to Knapside Hill and Fiend's Fell. Return along track and green lanes from Hartside Cafe via Twotop, Hazel Rigg and Gamblesby. 16.6km, 634m ascent/descent, 4:05hrs. (Based on a gpx trace recorded on 13/12/12)

Branstree & Selside Pike
Steady climb up Gatesgarth Pass then follow fence line to Branstree top. Cross fence to survey pillar and on to Selside Pike. Return via Old Corpse Road with minor detour to bag Brown Howe top. 9.8km, 580m ascent/descent, 3:30hr. Recorded 18/03/16

Great Dodd from Dockray
From Dockray village minor road W to High Row then Old Coach road to Groovebeck Ford. Take BW to Matterdale Common and on to Great Dodd. Ridge via Watson's Dodd to Stybarrow Dodd. Return E on FPs via White Stones, Hart Side and Birkett Fell. Follow wall SE to stile than back to Dockray via Brown Hills and Swineside Knott. 16.5km, 727m ascent/descent, est time 4:05. Wet Sledddale Horsehoe
A longer version of the normal horseshoe in favour of taking in Mosedale Cottage Bothy and a good route for seeing Red Deer. From Wet Sleddale Reservoir SW via Wasdale Pike and Great Yarlside. W along fence line via Harrop Pike to Sleddale Fell. NW to Tarn Crag then N to Mosedale. NE to Mosedale Cottage (good lunch stop). Continue ENE to Scam Matthew then NNW to High Wether Howe. E to Seat Robert then along wall to gate, Return via Sleddale Hall and S side of reservoir. 21km, 659m ascent/descent, est time 5:50. (Based on gps trace recorded on 7/5/13). Very squelchy route even in dry weather.
