Buachaille Etive Mor [West to East]

Track log from a West to East traverse of Buachaille Etive Mor. Start point near Dalness in Glen Etive. Initial climb up the west ridge of Stob na Broige is fairly steep but no technical dificulties, gradient eases off once above 400m or so. The descent from Stob Dearg is via the rige on the East side of Coire Cloiche Finne, apart from a short section of scree no real problems. [A bike left in Glen Etive below Coire Cloiche Finne make for an easy freewheel back to the start point] If you have done the Buachaille Etive Mor by the more common routes [Curved ridge or Coire na Tulaich] then this makes an interesting alternative. Distance 15km, Ascent 1350m, time 6hr 15mins.

Ben Lui, Ben a' Chleibh

start at Dailrigh but i used mountain bike to get to the base of Ben Lui, 15.5 miles took 7 hrs 15 but will be longer if all done by foot did this in zero visibility all day due to weather hence haphazard route!

Route up onto the An Socach ridge is via the landrover track past Baddoch farm and then up into Coire Fhearneasg. From the summit of An Socach head south, fairly steep initially, then head over to Carn Bhinnein. From there it is a fairly easy high level traverse over Carn a'Gheoidh and Carn nan Sac to The Cairnwell. Return north round the top of the Ski centre to Carn Aosda the last Munro of the circuit. Follow the north ridge of this hill over Carn Chrionaidh to return to the start point. Time 8hrs, distance 26k, ascent approx 1400m. Note done mid winter when ground was frozen, some of the route could be a bit boggy at other times.
