Little Hallingbury Mill Walk
This 6.5 mile walk consists of two contrasting sections, a riverside stroll and a more hilly walk through farmland. From the parking in the pretty hamlet of Gaston Green, the route goes down Mill Lane to Little Hallingbury Mill, a beautifully preserved water mill. Then a short walk across the water meadows takes you to the Stort Navigation. Follow the river northwards as it meanders through the valley, passing locks and thatched cottages along the way. As well as the river itself, the boats, bridges, trees and birds, there are magnificent wide open skies to enjoy along the way. The journey back takes you across the rolling hills of the Essex borders. A pleasant stroll through fields brings you to the village of Little Hallingbury, where The George offers a friendly welcome. Leaving the village, there's a walk over the undulating fields back to the parking.

Mid Devon - Buzzards, Withleigh
Park at NT Car Park in Withleigh. A pretty walk down to and then alongside the Dart through the NT property Buzzards (not shown as NT on OS map, nor are paths shown). At the far end of Buzzards, the route returns on very quiet lanes and by ways to start. 7.9km, 243m ascent/descent, 2hrs. Recorded 24/08/17.

Caudale, Patterdale, Deepdale
A valley walk from Brothers Water up to Caudale then down to Patterdale via Hartstop village returning via Deepdale. 11km,2:15hrs. Recorded 1/9/15.

Greenfell and Nine Standards Circuit
Park at head of the road from Hartley. The route follows the Coast to Coast route from the gate onto the fells as far as Hartley Fell. At the post marking a branch in the bridleways the route leaves the main track and is completely "off piste" (no paths) via High Greyrigg and Greenfell Crag to Rowantree Hill. Here it descends to a track via a line of grouse butts before following the edge of the fells to eventually meet a track going to Stowgill. At the cattle grid, the track enters private property but this can be detoured by following the field boundary to rejoin the track above Stowgill. The route than climbs steadily on a shooters' track virtually all the way to Nine Standards Rigg. From here the Coast to Coast path can be followed back to the start. 14.4km, 529m ascent/descent, 3:45hr. Walked 19/8/15

From Milburn N to Kirkland then BW and FP to Cross Fell, continue on Pennine Way to Great Dun Fell. Service Road and track to Silverband Mine. Off piste return to start following non existent BW. 22.9km, 950m ascent/descent, 5:35hr. Recorded 13/5/15

Crossthwaite Common
Park nr Park End Farm on Limestone Hill. Follow track then FP W through Park End Quarry to Rowton Beck. Follow faint path by field boundary SW then head SE across Crooks o' Green Fell to Brown Dodd and Rake Gill. Shooters' track goes ESE to join Pennine Way nr Wyhtes Hill. Follow Pennine Way across Harter Fell. At end of FP follow line of old rwy WNW to start. 12.3km, 323m ascent/descent, 2:20hr. Recorded on 2/5/15
