A good way to avoid the Langdale crowds. Climb from New Dungeon Ghyll to Stickle Tarn and then follow the ridge via Blea Rigg and the Castle Howes to Silver How and then return on a super ledge walk contouring and descending back to Langdale. 11.2km, 586m ascent descent, 3:40hr. Recorded 25/03/16.

Raise and Sheffield Pike
From Glencoyne NT Car Park walk follows lake shore to Glenridding then climbs up Greenside Road (track) past YHA and Kepple Cove to the summit of Raise. Then down to Sticks Pass to follow Sticks Gill before climbing to Sheffield Pike and Heron Pike. It then descends steeply to Glenridding Dodd before returning to start beside Mossdale Beck. 16.7km, 934m ascent/descent, 5:30hrs. Recorded 06/08/15.

Branstree & Selside Pike
Steady climb up Gatesgarth Pass then follow fence line to Branstree top. Cross fence to survey pillar and on to Selside Pike. Return via Old Corpse Road with minor detour to bag Brown Howe top. 9.8km, 580m ascent/descent, 3:30hr. Recorded 18/03/16

Great Dodd from Dockray
From Dockray village minor road W to High Row then Old Coach road to Groovebeck Ford. Take BW to Matterdale Common and on to Great Dodd. Ridge via Watson's Dodd to Stybarrow Dodd. Return E on FPs via White Stones, Hart Side and Birkett Fell. Follow wall SE to stile than back to Dockray via Brown Hills and Swineside Knott. 16.5km, 727m ascent/descent, est time 4:05. West Windermere
Start NT car park at Ash Landing. Follow W bank of Windermere to Belle Grange. Climb W on BW signposted Hawkshead. Near crest take FP across ford to follow ridge S past The Heald and Low Pate Crag to Far Sawrey. Return on FPs parallel to B5285. 9.3km, 310m up/down, 2:20hr. Recorded 16/10/14.
