GPX Walking Routes

Six Mamores

Track log from an ascent of 6 Mamore Munros. [Sgurr Eilde, Binnein Beag, Binnein Mor, Na Grugaichean, Stob Coire a' Chairn & Am Bodach] Start point in a layby on outskirts of Kinlochleven [Alternate start point is Mamores Hotel for small fee - would save a few hundred metres of ascent] Distance 25km, ascent 2400m approx, time just over 12 hrs.

Mullardoch Munros from Glen Strathfarrar

Track log from an ascent of the 4 Munros to the north of Loch Mullardoch. Start point is near the Hydro facility at Gleann Innis an Loichel where there is a parking area at the end of the tarred road. Route skirts to the north of An Riabhachan and ascends An Socach via a nice ridge from Coire Gorm Mor. Distance 28km, ascent approx 2000m, time under 12 hrs. Note access restrictions to Glen Strathfarrar mean this route is not really practical unless you are staying in the glen. If you have done these Munros by the more conventional routes then this makes an interesting alternative.

Bidean nam Bian from Glen Etive

Numerous route possibilities on this fine Glen Coe Munro. This is a track log of an ascent from Dalness in Glen Etive. Ascent included traverse of Stob Coire Sgreamhach. Return took in the Corbett of Beinn Maol Chaluim. [Note its a steep descent off the west side of Bidean nam Bian, could be difficult to get correct route if visibility is poor] Start point is car park in Glen Etive just past Dalness. Distance 15 km, ascent approx 1600m, time 8hrs.

Beinn Bhreac

Corbet Beinn Bhreac bike and hike track log. The route to this very remote Corbet is by Bike from Calvine on the A9 as far as Bruar Lodge. From there on foot more or less as suggested in the SMC Corbets guide book. The return took in Munro Beinn Dearg. Distance approx 43k [26 on bike], 1480m ascent, time just over 9 hrs.

Ben Macdui Beinn Mheadhoin + Cairn Gorm

Ben Macdui (1309m), Beinn Mheadhoin (1182m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) A really good long hard day out with challenging winter navigation. NB: This file is a 'Route' consisting of a small number of Waypoints plotted on a Computer, it is NOT as detailed as a Track recorded by a GPS in the field. Distance 14.5 miles, 1600m ascent
Owner:  Phil Newby, Type: route/track, Area: Scotland.

Foel Meirch via Yr Elen and Carnedd Dafydd

This route starts in Bethesda. There is roadside parking but I recommend using the public car park, just off the high street. This route takes in the summits of Yr Elen, Carnedd Dafydd and Foel Meirch and is 10.6 miles but you can include summit of Carnedd Llewelyn if you like with little extra distance but a further climb.

Sgurr nan Ceathreamhan

This is a bike and hike track log of a traverse of Mullach na Dheiragain and Sgurr nan Ceathreamhan from the west. Start point is at the end of the public road near Killilan. From there access up Glen Elchaig by bike as far as Carnach [First few miles of estate road is tarred] Continue on foot up the Glen as far as Iron Lodge [Sounds grand but just a little cottage] and then head East up the landrover track. Once up onto Mullach na Dheiragain it is a fine high level ridge walk over Sgurr nan Ceathreamhan and back to Carnach. Distance 44k [22k by bike], ascent 1900m, approx 11hrs.
