  • 9th of 12 LBTs today. Busy again; at least it isn't flat.

  • An interesting walk down and back up the busy main shopping street between the two tops of Highgate and Highgate Hill. Alongside is Highgate Cemetery which is designated Grade I on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England. It is divided into two parts, named the East(4 entry for self guided tours)and West cemetery ( entry by guided tours only 12). There are approximately 170,000 people buried in around 53,000 graves. It is notable both for its de facto status as a nature reserve (lots of foxes)and for some of the people buried there. Karl Marx being well known, but also Douglas Adams. I can imagine him describing Marvin plodding around bagging London Borough Tops "the first 32 were the worst.."
