- 23/12/14 solo winter's afternoon run over 4 tops from Broughton. From Pen,took zig zag on road to keep dry feet then surprisingly easy grass from north to top. Despite the howling wind also visited the southern top just in case,then a curving line above the mini gorge of Thwaite Yeat farm to the road and fast mile down tarmac to Cragg Hall.(Somewhere I lost a favourite fleece hat - £1 from Poundland which had done the job as well as any other hat I have had even keeping me warm up Kilimanjaro a year ago). I have just read that Day 2 of the huge annual JK Orienteering Event will take place on Barrow during Easter 2015. I have just entered - very handy as we will be back at Broughton then anyway. Might find my hat?
