- 26/12/14 Linked from Lowscales Bank via surprisingly good waymarked footpath from the transmitter pylon (stile over wall). Even more surprising was the 20 foot high wooden viewing platform on the summit. This will need jacking up soon as the surrounding conifers grow as already the view is confined towards Black Coombe. Messy forestry works had quagmired in places the path down east. Useful to be wearing proper walking boots for once rather than fell shoes. The proposed quarry extension will eat into the forest, but not the summit
