  • Farm track from N. No farmer or vehicles passed to request permission from. At nearby Smerrill Dale a Wellington bomber crashed in 1944 on a night training flight killing all on board-memorial in Middleton church yard. On all roads into the parish of Middleton there are recently placed poetry stones of different designs (www.sites of meaning) including two colourful rock faces close to the track from N.
