• A curious summit.The access track from NW has a no access without appointment sign. Open field gate by large empty cow shed led quickly into wood and easy top fence to summit pasture for a shock -first a giant horses head sculpture balanced on its nose, as exists by Hyde Park in London; then a large cross and large collection of buildings one a chapel (with glass windows and a great view). This is part of the Wintershall estate whose owners Peter and Ann Hutley have over 50 years developed large powerful bible production plays from here. They are currently recruiting for more members for their which they take all over e.g Canterbury, London. Their website www.wintershall-estate.com does say "those in search of peace and contemplation are welcome".
