- First visited the Trig Point sometime in the mid 1970s. The top of this hill and the Sub-Marilyn, is the top of the Old Man of Mow, so I'm not sure why the Trig Point is being suggested as the summit? Before the hill was quarried, at the top there was a large ancient cairn, which has since vanished. Probably because it was directly above what is now the Old Man of Mow. It's been suggested this might have been a reason for keeping this pinnacle of rock. Whilst most ordinary people (myself included) will only reach the Trig Point, that is still not a good reason for listing it incorrectly as the top of the hill.
