- Against all expectations the afternoon's heavy driving rain stopped on my drive home from work at Silverdale, so put my wellies on and headed up the smooth soggy grass of the deer parkland into strong SW winds to the raised earthwork summit. A stag and hind looked on -unlike the poor workman at impressive Dalam Tower who was busy blowing / scooping wet leaves out of the roadside drains. The attractive River Bella winds around the east and north of the hill where it flows into the Kent estuary.
